Backflow Program

Cross Connection

The Water Division is dedicated to ensuring safe, dependable drinking water. Eliminating cross connections is critical to protecting the water supply. Backflow prevention assemblies are devices that are installed in your water system to prevent water from flowing backward, protecting the water supply from potential contaminants.

Common Cross Connection Sources

  • Lawn sprinkler systems
  • Swimming pools, hot tubs and spas
  • Fire sprinklers
  • Water fountains in your yard
  • Utility sinks
