Committees and Commission
The City Council appoints citizens to committees and boards to advise the Council on certain decisions and policy matters. These dedicated citizens meet on a regular basis to address current issues and look for ways to make Fairview an even better place to live and work.
Applications are being accepted for the below volunteer member positions.
Commission / Committee Openings: Brief Description
- Planning Commission / 1 position: advise City Council on long-range, comprehensive planning and land use issues within the city, recommend amendments and policies related to land use, administer and enforces the city's zoning ordinance, and help ensure the city meets all state and regional land use goals. Typically meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM. The deadline to submit applications for appointment consideration by the City Council is 5:00 PM Monday, April 12, 2021. Planning Commission candidate interviews are tentatively scheduled for April 21, 2021 at 6:00 PM.
- Public Safety Advisory Committee / 1 position: advise and make recommendations on community livability concerns, police-community partnerships, collaborate with other agencies, and provide policy guidance on matters of public safety. Typically meets the third Monday of each month at 6:00 PM. The deadline to submit applications for appointment consideration by the City Council is 5:00 PM Thursday, April 15, 2021
