2010 Calendars are Here!
The City of Fairview Public Works Department is excited to present our first ever Water Conservation Calendar. This calendar was created using local student's artwork chosen through a coloring contest that was open to students in grades K-5 who attend one of the four local elementary schools in Fairview; Fairview Elementary, Multisensory Learning Academy, Salish Ponds Elementary, and Woodland Elementary. Students were asked to
hand draw and color a picture displaying different ways to conserve water at home.
There are many little things we can each do both inside and outside the home to save water. Along with the student's artwork displaying some of these ways, each onth has an indoor, outdoor tip and a fun water fact. We hope you enjoy our local student's artwork and look forward to making this calendar an annual tradition for many years to come..
To receive your copy of the 2010 calendar, please stop by Fairview City Hall, 1300 NE Village Street, or the Fairview-Columbia Library to pick one up (quantities are limited).
The 2010 calendar wouldn't be possible without the students and teachers who took the time to participate in this project. We would like to thank the following teachers and students for their participation in this year's calendar:
Mrs. Weeks's 2nd grade class from Fairview Elementary School; Angela Dorokhov, Ben Callaway, Corey Morris, Fernando Jaramillo, Liberty McCarthy, Mabelline Galindo-Santiago, Maddie Gillespie, Ryan Messinger, Savannah Martin, Veronica Lazaro-Figueroa, Wesley Thacker.
Mrs. Strutz's 5th grade class from Salish Ponds Elementary School; Alyssa Porter.
